Contributions needed to offer free heavy metal testing to past and present Northport, WA residents.
The Northport Project will use the results of the heavy metal tests,(mentioned above), to provide the proof needed to obtain funding for a program that would offer all Northport residents FREE annual health screenings. Annual health screenings could assist in protecting them from health effects of chronic exposure to the heavy metal toxins a Canadian smelter has released into their environment for over a century, as well as, by utilizing the ongoing health screening results (confidential), become a long-term epidemiological study; providing invaluable environmental health research data that will aid in protecting the safety of future generations.
