Northport Loses One of Its Fiercest Advocates

We recently lost a dear friend, mentor, and one of the most determined people I’ve ever known, Bob Jackman.

Bob was stubborn in all the best ways. Once he believed something was right, he never stopped fighting for it. For years, he stood beside our community in the fight to bring attention and accountability to the impacts of the Teck smelter. He showed up, spoke up, asked hard questions, and refused to let the concerns of Northport residents be ignored.

His commitment, strength, and unwavering dedication helped inspire so many of us to keep going when the road seemed impossible. I was fortunate to call him a friend and to have his guidance throughout this journey.

Thank you, Bob, for your courage, your wisdom, and your friendship. Northport is better because of you, and your legacy will continue in the work you cared so deeply about.

Rest easy, my friend. We’ll keep fighting.
